Follow the story of Lucile Mateu, an overworked union organizer who is investigating a mysterious cult that is threatening the freedom of Lodestar City's android community.

Even though she’s officially just a metro station attendant, Lucile spends most of her time working for the Metropolitan Syndicate, a network of trade unions, political parties, and mutual aid groups in the Joint Administrative Zone of New Queensland, a peninsula on the northern edge of the Transantarctic Mountains. Through her connections in the Syndicate, Lucile learned about an android cult called the Pioneers of Hestia.

Little is known about the Pioneers aside from their signature gray neckerchiefs. However, some androids believe that they are behind the disappearances of many of their friends and loved ones. Lucile uses her position in the Syndicate to help a group of androids known as the Tin Cats investigate this cult.

The more their investigation progresses, the more alarming their discoveries become. Following one of their leads, Lucile clashes with her former partner Victoria, an android who is now the CEO of the very company that assembled her in the first place. Lucile does not trust her or the Gendarmerie, Lodestar City's police force, but in order to defeat the Pioneers, she has to rely on their help as their cooperation escalates into something much bigger than she originally expected.
